Graduate students and academic staff of the Philosophy Programme at Waikato University are invited to participate in a Kaffeklatsch. Kaffeklatsch translates into English from German as "coffee talk."  The primary aim of sessions is to receive extensive constructive feedback on a work-in-progress.  While the atmosphere is relatively informal, participants are expected to have read the student or academic staff member's work before our meeting.

Here's how sessions will typically go.  At least one week prior to each session, a participant circulates a draft of a paper or a thesis chapter to other members of the group.  A second participant will be designated the primary discussant, and the expectation is that that discussant will have prepared a brief 5-10 minute commentary with the aim of kicking off the discussion for the session.
